Padma Cafe is a fantastic initiative focused on empowering women, brought to life by the N.S.S. Social Service Department. Its mission is to serve up delicious, hygienic, and affordable Kerala-style vegetarian food. This café is just the beginning of a larger plan to establish similar spots across Kerala, all supported by the N.S.S. Taluk Unions and Mannam Social Service Societies, with enthusiastic involvement from Women Self-Help Group members. The first café opened its doors in Adoor back in 2018, followed by a second location in Kottarakkara in 2020. At Padma Cafe, you can enjoy a delightful array of traditional Kerala dishes like sambar, dosa, vada, and payasam, all made with fresh ingredients sourced from the farms and units of self-help group members. The café prides itself on maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere, complete with amenities like parking and wheelchair access. It has received glowing reviews for its tasty food and friendly service.
